IDS Day 2: Two of Wands

What a confusing card! Action. Power. Boldness. Patience. Waiting. Decisions. Isolation. Partnership. It is cognitive dissonance embodied! There are two general meanings that seem to be accepted:
  1. The 2 of Wands is a card of power, either the reader's own or someone involved. The (frog) man holds a wand and a globe--the whole world--in his hands. In this manner the card advises to consider where power lies and if it is being properly used. Be certain and calm.
  2. A second reading is that some personal endeavor is near fruition. Something you've been working on or preparing for is ready to begin/end. All it needs is some patience...or some bold confidence...or an additional helping hand.
For me this card would be difficult to interpret in a spread by itself. The frog stares out in to the expansive sea, in full control and none too modest about it. He looks, on one hand, somewhat haughty. On another look though, frog could be melancholy. He may have a firm hold on his globe, but he is alone and so isolated on his tower in the sea. Even the colors are melancholy! Either way, he holds the globe close and dear. Perhaps he is contemplating some terrible knowlege, or deciding what now to do, or just hoping/praying someone comes to hold the second staff.

Conflicted frog.
